M & M Dabrowski Scholarship

In 1947 Manuel Dabrowski started his apprenticeship with Anderson Plumbing of Calgary. After receiving his Master Plumbing and Gas License, he worked for Anderson Plumbing for the next 12 years.

Mr. Dabrowski started his own plumbing and gas heating service company, L & M plumbing Co. Ltd., in 1962 and operated it until 1979 when he took a position with the Provincial Gas Inspections Branch as a Gas Inspector.

In 1988, after working with the government for 11 years, he took an early retirement. Shortly afterwards, Mr. Dabrowski accepted a position with the City of Calgary Gas & Plumbing Inspection Department. For approximately 13 years, Mr. Dabrowski was responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of all gas installations at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.

Over the last 40 years, Mr. Dabrowski has been affiliated with the Mechanical Contractors Association and has served as the president, past president, advisor and liaison with the Provincial Gas Inspections Branch as a Senior Technical Advisor. He maintains his designation as an approved Safety Code Officer for the Province of Alberta.
