Alggin Metal Industries Ltd. Gino Bianchini Memorial Scholarship

Alggin Metal Industries Ltd. is a family business founded by the late Gino and Shirley Bianchini in Calgary in 1979. Starting out with three employees in a 8,000 sq. ft. space, the company has grown to 80+ employees and is now housed in it's own 52,000 sq. ft. state-of-the art facility. Today, their sons, Gary and Allan are partners and owners of the company, and they continue the legacy their parents established.

Always progressing, Alggin is one of the most automated shops in Southern Alberta. An overhead crane feeds coils to the coil line, the spiral machine can produce pipe from 3' to 72' diameter in galvanized, aluminum, satin coat, and stainless steel. Sheet metal fittings that were once laid out by hand are now cut on the two computerized plasma machines. CNC brakes and shears, iron workers, welding & paint booths, and a state-of-the art, fully automated duct line are just some of the equipment used in the manufacturing process.

While Alggin is one of the largest manufactures/suppliers of sheet metal products in southern Alberta, we also offer an extensive line-up of HVAC related products to compliment our manufactured product. From unit heaters, gas furnaces, air conditioning units, radiant heaters, exhaust fans, louvers & dampers, specialty chimney systems, sealants & adhesives, all the way to duct tape, Alggin has become a one-stop-shop for all HVAC related products.

Always considered our best asset, at Alggin we truly value our people. This is evident by twice being awarded the Merit Contractors Association Employer of Excellence Award. In 2004, Alggin was chosen from thousands of local business and awarded the prestigious Calgary Chamber of Commerce Small Business of The Year Award.

Alggin's founder, Gino Bianchini, who studied at SAIT to become a journeyman, understood how difficult it can be to pursue your studies. Wanting to give something back to our industry, Alggin Metal Industries Ltd., is very pleased to participate in the Alberta Apprentice Scholarship Program to promote sheet metal work with the Gino Bianchini Memorial Scholarship. We are confident that the recipient will do well in this field and wish them all the best in their studies.
