Apprentice Scholarships

Under the banner of the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Board 'Family of Scholarships', over 200 apprentice and occupational trainee scholarships of $1,000 are available each Spring. RAP Scholarships

The RAP Scholarships were created to recognize the accomplishments of Alberta high school students participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), and to encourage them to continue their apprenticeship training after completing high school. 500 RAP Scholarships of $1,000 each are available annually.

Any student who was registered as a RAP student in high school and who has not yet received a RAP scholarship is invited to apply. For information on eligibility criteria, the selection process, industry donors, past recipients and the application form, click on RAP Scholarships.

Pre-Apprentice Scholarships

Introduced in 2008, the Pre-Apprentice Scholarships are designed to encourage those completing pre-apprenticeship training programs to continue in the trades and complete their apprenticeship training.  For eligibility criteria, information on the selection process, industry donors and more, see our 2008 scholarship information booklet.

Occupational Trainee Scholarships

The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board offers $1,000 scholarships to trainees in the designated occupations.

Awards

The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board Chairman's Award of Excellence provides formal recognition of individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to their trade or occupation through outstanding service as a member of the industry advisory system. This award is presented every two years. For information, click on Awards.

The Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board holds an annual awards ceremony to pay tribute to outstanding members of the Apprenticeship and Industry Training system with the Top Employer Award, Top Employer of Aboriginal Apprentices Award, Top Instructor Award, and Top Apprentice Award for each trade.

Top
