Half-million dollars in apprenticeship scholarships to enhance career options

Students participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) may be eligible for one of the 500 RAP Scholarships of $1,000.

$ GraduateAll students who will graduate from high school by June 2009, are registered apprentices and plan to continue their apprenticeship training after graduation are invited to apply. If you were previously a RAP apprentice, have graduated from high school and have not received a RAP Scholarship, you can now apply.

RAP Scholarships are designed to recognize the accomplishments of Alberta high school students participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), and to encourage students to continue their apprenticeship training after completing high school.

Previously these $1,000 scholarships were only available to RAP apprentices who recently graduated from high school. While recent graduates will continue to be a priority, eligibility for RAP Scholarships has been expanded to include graduates from previous years! If you are a RAP graduate and haven't previously received a RAP Scholarship take a few minutes to check on your eligibility!

The funds for the scholarships are provided from a joint investment of contributions from the private sector and the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund.

Recipients – RAP Scholarships

Congratulations to the apprentices who have been awarded a RAP scholarship in their trade.

The RAP program in Alberta is strong and continues to grow thanks to the high schools and the RAP Coordinators who work with their students and the RAP program.
