- In the Parts Technician - Materials Technician branch of the trade the following certificates are recognized under the Act: Military DND Training Qualification Level 6 - Supply Technician and Occupational Certificates in the Warehousing Technician Branch of the Warehousing occupation. - A new method of payment has been implemented in AIT. American Express is now accepted, along with cash, debit card, company card, certified cheque, MasterCard, money order, personal cheque and VISA.

May
- The new Parts Technician trade has two branches: Parts Technician and Parts Technician-Materials Technician. The Materials Technician branch of the trade has a technical training format of 6-6-6, in each of its respective three periods. Examinations will start to roll out in September 2008 with the 1st period exam that's commom to both branches. See Parts Technician - Materials Technician.

- The Warehousing occupation has been merged with the Parts Technician trade. If a person is already a registered trainee in one of the three levels of the Warehousing occupation, that person has until April 30, 2010 to complete the level of training in which they enrolled. The Warehousing occupation will cease to exist as of April 30, 2010. See Warehousing (All Levels).

- The Parts Technician trade has been merged with the Warehousing occupation, effective May 1, 2008. The "old" Parts Technician program will continue to serve current apprentices who have already taken some Parts Technician technical training. They must complete all periods of technical training according to the following schedule: the end of June 2009 to complete 2nd period technical training and until June 30, 2010 to complete the 3rd period of technical training. - The new trade resulting from the merging of the Parts Technician trade and the Warehousing occupation has two branches: Parts Technician and Parts Technician - Materials Technician. The Parts Technician branch of the trade is a 3-year program with a technical training format of 6-8-6 weeks in its respective 1st, 2nd and 3rd periods. There is set schedule for rolling out the new exams, starting in September 2008. See Parts Technician-Parts Technician.

- Effective May 1, 2008 the Parts Technican trade merged with the Warehousing occupation, creating the new trades of Parts Technician and Parts Technician-Materials Technician. See Parts Technician.

- The Certificate of Military Achievement, Qaulification Level 5, Refrigeration and Mechanical Technician issed by the Department of National Defence is now recognized as being equivalent to a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic trade certificate. - The following certificates are now recognized as being equivalent to the Alberta Gasfitter "A" certificate: Gasfitter I Certificate issued by the province of Nova Scotia and Class G1 Gas Technician Licence (G1 Licence) issued by the province of New Brunswick.
